5. Regulates Blood Pressure
One of the most studied benefits of hibiscus is its ability to help regulate blood pressure, especially when consumed regularly. Its vasodilating compounds relax blood vessels and improve circulation.
However, this same benefit can be a contraindication for some people, as you will see later.
Hibiscus Tea Recipe (Jamaica Flower)
Ingredients
1 liter of water
2 tablespoons of dried hibiscus flowers
Optional:
1 teaspoon of honey
Juice of half a lemon
2 mint leaves
Preparation
Place the liter of water in a pot and bring it to a boil.
Once it starts boiling, add the hibiscus flowers.
Let it boil for 5 to 7 minutes to release its color and properties.
Turn off the heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.
Strain the mixture and pour it into a glass pitcher.
You can drink it hot or cold, according to your preference.
If you like, add lemon or mint
to enhance its cleansing effect.
