Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Baking Sheet
Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Tip: Parchment helps the cheese crisp up without sticking. Foil isn’t ideal, as it can cause grease to pool and cook the bottoms unevenly.

Step 2: Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the sausage, shredded cheddar, and egg.

Tip: Use your hands to mix until everything is fully incorporated. This helps prevent the bites from falling apart or leaking cheese while baking.

Step 3: Shape the Bites
Scoop out about 1 to 1½ tablespoons of the mixture and roll into small balls.

Tip: Keep them uniform in size so they cook evenly.

Step 4: Bake Until Golden
Place the sausage balls on the baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart. Bake for 16–20 minutes, until fully cooked and golden brown on the outside.

Step 5: Optional Broil
For extra crispiness, broil for the last 1–2 minutes. Watch closely to avoid burning.

Step 6: Let Them Set
Allow the bites to rest on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before serving.

Tip: This helps the cheese firm up, keeping the bites intact and giving them a better texture.
